Today's Parent Briefing

A short daily read for families — fresh each morning, seasonal, and grounded in guidance from the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Tips

Bring Your Questions List

Keep a running note on your phone between visits. Three small questions asked early beat one big worry saved for later.

Explainer

Growth Curves Tell a Story

One point on a chart means little — the pattern over years is what your pediatrician reads. Ask to see the curve, not just the number.

Guidance

Teens Need Checkups Too

Yearly visits continue through adolescence. Sports physicals, mood check-ins, and vaccine boosters all live here.

Parents are asking

My child isn't sick — do we really need a checkup?

Yes. Well-visits are where growth, development, vision, hearing, and emotional health get checked while small things are still small. They are also protected time for your questions. Your pediatrician can tell you the right schedule for your child's age.

What if we've missed a few years of visits?

Just restart — no clinic will scold you. Catch-up is routine, including for vaccines, and one visit gets the plan back on track. Call your pediatrician's office and tell them the last visit date you remember.
